The 60-year-old explained that Christmas is all about children and he understands why some people want their children to leave home – but he doesn’t.

“Christmas is all about the kids. My little people aren’t that little any more but they live in my world because they still live at home,” he told the Irish Daily Mail.

“My daughter is 26 and my son is 23 and we are all still living together and I don’t ever want it to change, but it will, but I would have them there forever.

“I do have the dreaded millennials and I don’t ever want them to go. I am very happy with that situation and I can understand why some people might want them out but we work as a family unit.”

Moving on: The presenter knows his kids will leave home, but he’s enjoying his time with them | VIPIRELAND.COM

Despite knowing there will be a time when his children do eventually leave, Marty is enjoying his time with Jessica and Thomas.

“I love hanging around with them and spending time with them and I tell them I love them and I get great joy out of them.

“There will come a time when they will move on and have their own families but until then I am quite happy to have them around me.

“We are very romantic at home. We all tell each other we love one another every day. My parents were like that.

“We are a very close-knit family and that is how I like to live my life. You go to bed at night and you don’t know if you are going to wake up, so it is important to have no regrets,” he added.
