Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ partner Mara Lane has gushed about the actor, insisting that he is the “best father”.
Jonathan and Mara welcomed their son, Wolf, on December 15 at their LA home, but the parents didn’t share the first picture of him until February.
Taking to her Instagram, Mara said, “J is the best Father btw. Ridiculously loving, super protective, patient and attentive.
“Wolf is basically snuggled, kissed, adored, sang to and entertained any free minute he has by his Papa.”
At the moment, the happy family are trekking through Asia – where they have been sharing plenty of pictures looking happy and relaxed.
The notoriously private couple became engaged in December 2014, however last September, it was suggested that the couple had secretly tied the knot after Mara changed her name on Instagram, and has referred to herself as a “blessed wife”.
Baby Wolf’s arrival marks a serious change in Jonathan, whose battle with alcoholism has been well documented in the press over the years.
In 2007, he was arrested at Dublin Airport on charges of public drunkenness, and then later in 2011, he received a suspended sentence and €1,000 fine for a similar offence at Paris’ De Gaulle Airport.
Over the past few years, it’s believed that Jonathan has completed a total of six stints in rehab.
In 2010, he said, “I just don’t want to be that f****** a******* sitting in the pub and someone turns around and says, ‘See him there at the bar, he could have made a f****** fortune, but he went over to Hollywood and he just f****** p****d it up against the wall’.”
