Lottie Ryan is set to follow in the footsteps of her late father Gerry, when she takes over his 2fm radio slot next month.

The 33-year-old will step in to replace Jennifer Zamparelli from 9am – 12pm every weekday on 2fm, while she’s on holidays.

Lottie will present the show in the Gerry Ryan studio, which was named after her father on the 10th anniversary of his death back in April.

Speaking to the Irish Sun, Lottie said: “I’m trying not to think about it too much. Doing my dad’s show in his old studio…”

“All I’m hoping is that his spirit joins me on air and I find the words to do what made him so popular with the whole country.”

Lottie also joked that she hopes her mum Morah doesn’t ring into the show, like she did with Gerry.

“I’m afraid of mum doing that. If she does, I will kill her,” she said. “Because she regularly texts in when I’m on air, saying, ‘You’re doing great Lottie’.”

“But she doesn’t text my mobile, she texts the general show text number so all the team see it on the system.”

The news comes after Lottie recently admitted she’s fighting to land her own show on 2fm.
