Linda Nolan ‘devastated’ as she shares update on battle with incurable cancer

Linda Nolan has revealed she’s shaved her head after losing her hair for the fourth time during her battle with incurable cancer.

In March, the Dublin native, who shot to fame with her sisters in the band The Nolans back in the 1970s, announced her cancer had spread to her brain.

At the time, doctors told the 64-year-old she had two sizeable masses surrounded by smaller ones on her brain, almost 20 years after she was first diagnosed with cancer.

In a new interview, Linda opened up about taking back control with the help of her hairdresser friend, but that she’s still “devastated” by her hair loss.

The 64-year-old told The UK Mirror: “My friend who is a hairdresser came round and just shaved it. Then I said ‘Get me a cap, we’re going out for a drink!'”

“I just feel, because I’ve been having steroid treatment as well and my face is swollen, I look like Mrs Potato Head.”

“People say, ‘Well you know you look great’, but inside I’m screaming ‘I just don’t want to lose my hair again!’ I was devastated at losing it.”

Linda is due to begin taking a new “wonder drug” alongside “another chemotherapy drug” in hopes that they will give her “more time”.

Doctors have also warned the singer “not to compare herself” to her late husband and sister Brian and Bernie, who both lost their battles with cancer, as medicine has advanced since then.

Speaking to woman magazine, Linda said: “I’ve had radiotherapy and soon I’ll be starting a drug for brain tumours, which is being nailed as a wonder drug – alongside another chemo drug.”

“When I was on chemo in 2020 I stayed on it until I couldn’t handle it. So if it’s working, we’ll go with it. Anything that’ll give me time.”

“They keep telling me not compare myself to Bernie, because ten years have gone by and they didn’t have these drugs then.”

In 2020, Linda revealed a third recurrence of cancer since 2005 when she was diagnosed with liver cancer.

Linda sadly lost her sister Bernie to breast cancer in 2013, and her husband to skin cancer back in 2007.
