Kathryn Thomas reveals chat show dreams

Kathryn Thomas has revealed that she’d love to front her own chat show.

While the Carlow native is already a well-known face on RTÉ by hosting Operation Transformation and the Voice of Ireland, Kathryn would love to land her own show in the future.

“The chat show is there, we are inundated with chat shows at the minute, but that would definitely be something I would look at doing down the line,” she said.

“As long as you are challenged, that is the big thing for me.

“As long as something doesn’t become boring or run of the mill. It’s about bringing something new to it,” she told the Herald.

After meeting famous docu-film maker Michael Moore (Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 911), Kathryn revealed that she’d like to try her hand at filming a documentary.

“I would like to, possibly down the line. I’ve done a few radio documentaries which I loved.

“I have an interest in politics and the economies overseas because I’ve travelled as much as I have.

“I have my finger in many pies in terms of what’s going on in the world,” she explained.

Kathryn, who first appeared on our screens at just 19-years-old, also admitted that she’d never move across the pond to the UK – because she knows the Irish audience too well.

“I don’t think so at this point. I would never say never but I am happy where I am, I have good projects coming up and I have a really good relationship with the Irish viewers so for me, I am happy.”

It was recently revealed that Kathryn is gearing up for a new TV show – but the RTÉ star kept mum on the details.

“I think people will love it. It’s been a long time coming and it’s going to be fun,” she added.
