RTEÂ presenter Kathryn Thomas has stood up for Hollywood star Renee Zellweger.
The Hollywood actress recently received online scrutiny for having cosmetic surgery on her face but Operation Transformation host Kathryn has defended the move.
“I couldn’t believe the spiteful vitriol plastered across the internet this week about Renee Zellwegger’s face,” she said

“The Bridget Jones star stepped onto the red carpet at the Elle Women in Hollywood awards in LA – only to have the world slam her mercilessly.”
“While it does seem that the 44-year-old has undergone some work, the backlash was OTT.”
The Operation Transformation star also revealed that she believes women in the public eye are always blasted for their appearance.

“Women in the public eye are constantly judged on their looks rather than their ability to do their job,” she said in her column in the Irish Daily Star.
“Before Zellweger hit her 40’s she had to endure snide remarks about her weight, her squint, her full cheeks. What should she do?
“Opt to grow old gracefully and see her work offers dry up at 40?,” she asked.
“Or go for plastic surgery, have the world call you conceited and endure magazines publishing comparable of you today and in your 20s.”
