Katherine Lynch in talks with the BBC for new sitcom

Katherine Lynch has admitted that she’s in talks with the BBC, in hopes to bring her on-screen persona Bernie Walsh to the UK.

The Dancing With The Stars contestant could follow in the footsteps of Mrs Brown’s Boys creator Brendan O’Carroll, who recently won big at the NTAs, as she revealed that she’s in negotiations with the UK’s national broadcaster.

“We have a sitcom simmering away in negotiations with the BBC at the moment.

“It’s called Settled and Singing Bernie Walsh and her family move in beside an English family who are very posh and cause havoc,” she told the Irish Mirror.

“That’s the gist of it. It’s all a work in progress.”

The actress founded Waka TV with her friend Warren Meyler back in 2007, and the production company has since backed a number of hit shows, including Vogue Williams’ RTÉ2 documentary series, and most recently Brendan Courtney’s documentary We Need To Talk About Dad.

“It’s made a huge difference to people’s lives and that is all credit to Brendan. Warren worked on that with him and Brendan did such a good job.

“He and his dad Frank have helped so many others by making that documentary,” she added.
