Irish acts confirmed for Cork’s Live At The Marquee

A host of Irish acts have been confirmed for Cork’s Live At The Marquee.

The festival is set to take place at the former Tedcastle Oil site, for 19 nights beginning in May and spanning across June – a new location for the host of gigs.

The festival’s promoter Peter Aiken has now confirmed the first Irish acts set to hit the stage next year.

Christy Moore, The Coronas, Gavin James and Damien Dempsey are set to perform at the festival next summer.

Peter explained that the festival will take place on the new site for “at least three years” and that they are investing in the site for the long term.

Despite changing location this year and the increase on spending on the new site, Peter confirmed at a press conference at the Montenotte Hotel on Wednesday, that the ticket prices for the acts will not increase, staying the same price as last year.

The Coronas will perform on May 24, while Gavin James takes to the Marquee stage on May 25.

Bingo Loco also returns on June 1 and One Day presents blk takes place on June 7, followed by Damien Dempsey on June 8.

Jenny Greene and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra will hit the stage on June 14 and Christy Moore will play his 19th year in the Marquee on June 15.

Mick Flannery and Susan O’Neill will perform on June 21, while the Biggest Disco returns to Cork on June 22.

Tickets for the newly announced gigs will go on sale next week, staggered from Monday to Friday.

Peter also reminded fans that more acts are yet to be announced: “We’ve got one or two that will surprise everybody in February.”
