Holly Carpenter: ‘I saw how passionate Keith Duffy was about his charity work’

Holly Carpenter has opened up about working with Keith Duffy while he was with the charity Irish Autism Action.

The Boyzone star recently admitted that he was sick to his stomach after a row with the charity.

“I saw first-hand how passionate Keith Duffy was about his work with the charity when I worked alongside Rosanna Davison at an event of his,” she said.

The former Miss Ireland admitted that she worked with him on a charity event with the singer alongside Rosanna.

“Rosanna and I waitressed for the night in 37 Dawson Street as part of his event,” she wrote for the Irish Independent.

“The night was so well organised and I could see that it meant a lot to Keith.

“It’s a real shame how things have worked out.”

The 24-year-old also admitted that she’s happy to see the father-of-two give the real reason why he left the charity.

“I can’t imagine what a slap in the face it must have been after all his hard work to hear such a flippant comment being made.

“Although when he stood down at the time, Duffy said it was to spend more time with his family, I think it’s good that he has now opened up about what really happened,” she added.

“It must be so disheartening for honest Irish charities to see another big one like Autism Action receiving negative press.

“I feel as if more and more Irish people are reluctant to donate to large charities as they feel the trust has been lost.”
