Dónall Farmer has sadly passed away, according to RTÉ.
The actor, who is best known for his role in RTÉ soap Glenroe as priest Fr Tim Devereux, is survived by his wife Eileen and children Orla, Catherine and Dónall.
Aside from acting and directing, the Cork native became the Head of Drama for RTÉ in 1971.
Since the news of his death broke, fans have taken to social media to pay tribute to him.
