Irish actor Aidan Gillen famed for his roles on The Wire and RTE’s Charlie is preparing for his next gig voicing Sun Tzu’s The Art Of War.
The book which is the most widely read and revered text on military strategy is being turned into an audiobook narrated by the velvety voiced actor.
The 46-year-old is known for playing schemers and social climbers but now will reel off sultry proverbs.

Speaking about the his new venture, Aidan admitted he see’s a connection between the book and his show Game of Thrones.
“There’s no way the writing staff of Game of Thrones haven’t read The Art of War,” he said.
“There’s definitely an influence on Game of Thrones from this book in both a general way and on the character of Lord Baelish and his strategies,” he told Yahoo News.

Admitting he hadn’t read the book  before he was asked to narrate it, Aidan revealed went to look for the book in the politics section of a bookshop but it was in the philosophy area.
“It’s a pretty wisdom packed and practical manuscript written with the flourish of a philosopher,” he revealed.
This isn’t the first time the TV star has narrated an audiobook having voiced Roddy Doyle’s book Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha.
