EXCLUSIVE! RTE's Angela Scanlon reveals: 'I wanted to get a breast reduction'

She’s laid herself bare (literally) for RTE’s newest show Full Frontal – and Angela Scanlon has revealed she considered getting a breast reduction.

The red-headed presenter looks into Ireland’s obsession with plastic surgery and nudity throughout the series.

Speaking to Goss.ie Angela said she has thought about plastic surgery herself.

“I have never considered getting a boob job although I did once think about a reduction,” she admitted.

New show: Angela explores plastic surgery in RTE’s Full Frontal

“There is so much pressure on women these days to adhere to a very narrow and unattainable norm and it feeds insecurities and has built an industry.

“I heard about some people recently who had it and I was shocked but when I looked back at pictures it was glaringly obvious that the face was no longer connected to the emotion,” she said.

“That, is a little unnerving. Also, I have always felt that I would be the one who ends up with a lazy eye and a trout pout so I’m happy to abstain, just in case.”

Throughout her new show Angela speaks to former Miss World Rosanna Davison about her decision to strip off for Playboy.

While Angela admitted she respected Rosanna’s decision – she said she would never strip off for the mag.

“No. I wouldn’t do it in a million years but the interview didn’t change my feelings about Rosanna doing it,” she told Goss.ie.

“I believe in people doing whatever the hell makes them happy. She speaks about it as a hugely positive and empowering experience, she’s a business woman and I respect that.

“My mate Daisy Lowe did an amazing Playboy shoot too and I reckon if it’s an option and makes sense at a particular time in your life professionally or otherwise, then why the hell not.”

Meanwhile Angela said shew as delighted with the public’s reaction to her new show.

After the Naked episode where men and women stripped off for the cameras Angela said she’s had a great response.

“I was thrilled at how open and willing people were,” she admitted.

“I think our generation are rebelling and trying to ensure that in their own children they install a sense of pride and not shame where their bodies are concerned.

“That’s a really important message and something women in particular have been very receptive too.”

– Full Frontal airs tonight on RTE 2 at 9.30pm
