Erika Fox has opened up about her “bizarre” doctor experience, after breaking her finger.
The popular Irish influencer, who lives in New York, took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to share a snap of her bruised finger.
The Kerry native admitted she was convinced it was only a sprain, but an X-Ray revealed she had broken it.
Speaking to her 160k followers after a visit to a specialist, Erika said: “Oh my god, what a day. Just a finger, could be so much worse… I was kind of annoyed this morning but I’m over it.”
Explaining her “new annoyance”, the blogger said: “I went to urgent care this morning, did the X-Ray there. Straight away they were like it’s fractured and put that splint on…”
“They were very much like, ‘Keep the splint on, it’s going to help with the healing until you go to the specialist later’. Very much pro-splint basically.”
“Then I went to the specialist. I was literally there for two minutes, he was this 80-year-old guy, he barely said two words to me,” she continued.
“The only thing he said to me was like, ‘The only thing I need to do is take the splint off you and come back in two days and I want you to be making a fist by then.'”
“I was like, ‘Oh is it not broken or fractured?’ and he was like, ‘No it is. I just don’t believe in splints’. So now I’m like what the hell should I do? I’ll listen to him but like, am I going to make it worse? Don’t know what to do.”
Sharing an update later in the evening, Erika wrote: “Thanks for all your kind messages guys. Going to get another opinion in the morning just for peace of mind.”
“I know I’ll feel much better once I know for sure I’m doing the right thing to help it heal. That’s the main thing really. But anyway hope you all had a better Monday than me.”
Erika shared a photo of the view from her new apartment, which she recently moved into with her boyfriend Tommy.
