Claudine Keane fears having a 'nervous breakdown' if she stays in America

Claudine Keane has admitted she would have a “nervous breakdown” if she had to stay in America for the rest of her life.

The wife of Irish footballer Robbie Keane admits she can’t even handle two years in Los Angeles, where they are now based.

“I do, I like living in LA, but I like knowing that I can come home and that home is always there,” she said.

“Because if someone told me I was going to be there for two years non-stop, I would probably have a nervous breakdown.

“I love it because I know I can come back and see my family. It is a lovely place to live and bring up your kids, and you have the weather and beaches. But you know, I also like a happy medium and getting home.”

And Claudine revealed that living in the US has lead son Robert Jnr, four, to pick up parts of an American accent.

“He has a twang, he will say words like ‘get the trash can’ and ‘I want some candy’. He has those little things,” she told RSVP.

“But he also has the Irish, ‘what’s the craic?’ I suppose living with a mother being totally Irish, he just picks up what he hears.

“And he is not in school yet, he starts in school in September, you have to be five to start school over there.”

And Claudine revealed that Robert has slowly begun to turn into his dad – and is very much into football.

She added: “He is into everything – climbing walls, football, throwing things about.”
