Cathriona White’s mother has spoken out for the first time since her daughter’s death and has revealed she’s “devastated” by false reports of their relationship.
Brigid Sweetman was reported to have an estranged relationship with her daughter, who was in an on-and-off again relationship with Jim Carrey.
“If I could hold her once again, I would never let go,” she said.

“There’s a story that has been published saying I sent Cathriona an email on her birthday nine days before she died, calling her a failure,” she told The Sun.
“I don’t know who would say such lies, but this is something that never, ever happened. I am devastated people would say this.”
Brigid has reportedly said that her home in South England had been targeted by vandals who wrote “Die b***h” in white paint on her wall.
“The way it is here now, I am scared to go out of the door. I would love to move out of this house but I can’t afford it,” she stressed.

“I absolutely adored Cathriona, like I adore all my three children. They are my life and I’m so proud of all of them.
“From the moment she was born, I cherished her. Calling her a failure is never something I would ever have done. It’s an awful thing to say to anyone, let alone your own child,” she added.
Brigid also revealed what she wrote on a note she left on Cathriona’s grave at her funeral.
“That note was very personal, private. But basically, it said if I could hold her just once again, I would never let her go,” she revealed.
Cathriona died six weeks ago on September 28 in her home in Los Angeles.
