Model Ava Van Rose pleads guilty to assaulting woman

Irish glamour model Ava Van Rose is awaiting sentence for assault after she pleaded guilty to biting and scratching a woman.

Ava, real name Bridget Byrne, pleaded guilty after she caused harm to Helen Guinan at  a house on Wheatfield Avenue in Clondalkin, Dublin, on October 20 2013.

Garda Gerard Clifford informed the court that the busty brunette has a daughter with Helen Guinan’s partner.

There was an alleged row over their arrangements for the collection of the child.

Garda Clifford said when the door was opened, the 26-year-old model “jumped on Helen Guinan in the front hall and put her fingers in her eyes, she was biting her left hand and scratching her face.”

Ava, who starred in the short lived reality series Infectious, had initially decided to contest the case on the grounds that she acted in self-defence.

However, defence solicitor Brian Keenan told the court she was now pleading guilty.

Garda Clifford agreed that Ava did not have any prior criminal convictions and has not come to Garda attention since.

A District Court conviction for the assault could result in a fine and a possible sentence of up to one year.

Brian Keenan asked the court to take into account Ava’s guilty plea and the fact that she had no prior convictions.

It comes after Ava previously told Goss.ie that the reality show she was involved in was completely fake.
