Claire Byrne has revealed that she hopes to get married this year.
Although the TV star has made no wedding plans yet, she admitted that would love to get hitched to partner Gerry Scollan who she has been engaged to since 2013.
“We will probably get married this year,” she said.
“We don’t have firm plans as we’re dealing with two under two. When we do, it won’t be a big fussy thing. It’ll be small. Neither of us would be into a big huge event.”

“We’ll just do it for some friends and ourselves. That’s the plan, let’s see what happens,” she told Woman’s Way Magazine.
The pair haven’t had time to wed since Gerry popped the question with Claire giving birth to children Patrick, 2 and Jane, 1 in the meantime.
With two young kids to look after, Claire admitted she often sees going to work as taking a break.
“I now understand what coming to work for a rest is all about,” she said.

“A few people said that to me and I thought it was the strangest thing, but now I get it.”
“I’ve learned a lot about how parents operate. It’s very difficult. Even today while I’m talking to you, I have two sick children at home so I’m trying to juggle all of that.”
“Gerry had to come home from work to let me go to work and so all of that is going on in the background.”
The Claire Byrne Live host also admitted that becoming a mother has made her more emotional and she almost broke down in tears when she interviewed Ronan and Gillian Tracey, whose son was killed by a drunk driver.

“That was the one time I thought, ‘I’m not going to be able to get through this.'”
