Prince Harry showed his emotional side at the WellChild awards on Tuesday evening.
The royal shared a touching insight into Meghan Markle’s pregnancy and becoming a father.
In his speech about the awards, Harry became choked up with emotion, and even had to stop at one point to gather himself.
Speaking of the awards, which celebrate the amazing achievements of some of the UK’s seriously ill children, he said:
“They never fail to inspire me – but this year it resonates in a different way because now I’m a father,” he said, in the live stream speech.
“Last year when my wife and I attended we knew that we were expecting our first child, no one else knew, but we did.”
In a further homage to their relationship on the evening, Meghan herself gave a nod to their relationship.
Proving that occasion wear shouldn’t just be worn once, the Duchess of Sussex donned a fitted green dress by P.A.R.O.S.H. which she last wore at the announcement of her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017.
The Duke of Sussex also presented the Award for Most Inspirational Child on the night.
