Former X Factor star Melanie McCabe has vowed to show people she is more than just an ex-reality show singer.
The Dubliner, 21, is planning to explode onto the scene with her solo career and make waves in the music industry.
She said: “I hope to get away from X Factor and to relaunch myself as a different kind of an artist.
“I want to show people that I really can sing, because in X Factor they never really showed my best bits.

“They gave me all the songs I had to sing so I never really got to show the kind of singer that I am, so this is my chance to do that.”
But Melanie, who is planning a gig at the National Concert Hall, says she has no regrets going on the TV show.
She told the Herald: “It’s given me so much confidence because before I did it I wouldn’t even sing in front of my family.
“It has also taught me a lot about the business.”
