One Direction have promised fans that their split is only temporary but Louis Walsh doesn’t think so.
The X Factor judge insists that they won’t be coming back and has tipped only Niall Horan and Harry Styles to find solo success.
“Niall Horan was in the right place at the right time, he’s the luckiest guy in the world and he knows that. They made an awful lot of money but it’s over now for them and who’s going to have the solo career. I think Niall will do really well and Harry,” Louis said on Saturday Night With Miriam.
Louis is extremely close to Simon Cowell, who signed the band to his Syco label, even calling him his “best friend”, so it’s highly likely that he has the inside scoop on the boyband.
The outspoken star is back on X Factor this year after being sensationally sacked last year and he admitted he was thrilled that it didn’t do well without him.
When asked by Miriam O’Callaghan, “Were you annoyed when you weren’t on the last season?” he replied: “You mean when I was sacked? I was sacked. They just told me not to come back.
Initially I was annoyed and then I was really happy that it didn’t work without me. I’ll be honest with you.
“I was offered £1 million for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, but I couldn’t do it. Then Simon rang me up, he’s the campest man you’ve ever seen, and said ‘don’t do the show darling, I have another show for you’. And that’s when I knew I was back on X Factor.
“I trust him 100 per cent, even though he sacked me twice. It’s all about ratings for him, it’s not personal. ITV wanted to make the show younger but it didn’t work.

“Simon’s a pussycat. He’s charming, never curses, never raises his voice and he loves animals.”
Louis also appeared to take a pop at former judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, when he said: “I think Nicole Scherzinger is the best judge, she can really sing, perform and do it live. Unlike other judges on the show.”
And he joked about his pal Sharon Osbourne: “She’s looking really well, she’s got a new face. It’s her third new face and it’s the best one yet. She’s had a bit of work done and she looks great. I saw it to her all the time, she doesn’t mind.”
