Bono now afraid to Google himself – as fans fume over free album release

U2 star Bono has admitted that he is “afraid” to Google himself after the release of the bands latest album, Songs Of Innocence.

The Dublin rocker revealed that he hates looking himself up on the web, even when there is positive feedback about his music.

“Somebody said to me the other day, ‘You’ll have to check out some of these U2 sites,’ and I’m normally afraid to go there because rarely anything we do pleases them but they’re really on fire with this,” he said.

The U2 frontman also revealed that his daughter Jordan is like a “music Nazi” when it comes to his music.

Bono admitted that his 25-year-old daughter emails him to inform him about all the controversy the band have been causing.

“I’ve got an elder girl, who’s like a music Nazi. She’s been writing me these beautiful long emails telling me about the songs and she says apparently some people on the internet are upset,” he said.

“But I said, ‘What is the internet, darling?’ She’s going to explain that to me soon.”

Bono told the Star that it may be some time before the follow up to the bands album Songs Of Innocence is complete.

“They’ll be coming out when they’re finished, which I don’t think will be too long – a year, year-and-a-half maybe. But I’m not very reliable on release dates.”
