All five Garth Brooks gigs could still happen – as promoters look to move final two dates

Five Garth Brooks concerts could still go ahead – as concert promoters attempt a last-minute plan to save the shows.

The US country singer’s Croke Park shows have been put in jeopardy after Dublin City Council refused licences for two of the dates.

Now Aiken Promotions are understood to be set to put in a new licence application to move the last two dates.

And instead of playing for five days straight, there would be a two day break – with the final dates moving to Wednesday and Thursday.

Croker: Residents have also had three One Direction shows

The GAA would then promise residents they would be given a year-long break from concerts at Croke Park for the whole of 2015 – after also putting up with three One Direction gigs this year.

It is understood this would see a decision made by late next week, days before the first show on July 25, according to the Irish Independent.

Currently, 400,000 ticket holders are left unsure what is happening after Garth insisted he would only perform five shows or nothing.

Already specially designed equipment is en route to Ireland for the Croke Park shows.

It has been specially designed for the GAA stadium, making it impossible to move the shows to a new venue as had been mooted.

Fans have began pushing petitions with more than 1,000 signing yesterday, including a new pro-Garth Croke Park residents group.

Yesterday, pubs also began new calls for the shows to continue – revealing they would lose €15 million if the five didn’t happen.
