Older than Ireland has been tipped for an Oscar nomination at next year’s ceremony.
The documentary-style film tells the story of life through the eyes of thirty Irish centenarians.
Older Than Ireland won Best Irish Documentary at the Galway Film Fleadh , while it’s director Alex Fegen received a nomination for Rising Star at the film IFTAs earlier this year.

According to Scannain.com, it is reported that the documentary has been considered eligible for the prestigious award.
In this case, it will be the only Irish entry among the 145 films in the Best Documentary category.
The nominations for the 89th Academy Awards will be announced on the 24th of January 2017.
