EXCLUSIVE: Love/Hate's Mary Murray hopes bosses make a MOVIE version of hit gangland show

Love/Hate star Mary Murray has revealed she would love to see the RTE show made into a movie.

The RTE star, who played Janet in the award-winning drama, believes creator Stuart Carolon could make a successful movie version or spin-off series.

“I’d like to see a movie. Anything that Stuart Carolan writes I wanna see,” she told Goss.ie.

“I think he is incredible and it will be wonderful. I’m sure the whole nation will be behind it if he does come out with a movie or a spin-off.

“Whatever he decides, I’m sure we’ll all be waiting with baited breath,” she said.

Mary was killed off in season five and admitted she was worried she might be typecast, after playing brothel owner Janet.

“People get pigeon-holed all the time. I certainly did think that I would end up in people’s minds for a particular part because they’ve seen me as Janet,” she told Goss.ie.

“But the thing is I’ve been working as an actor for the last eighteen years and I’ve been doing all kinds of different roles in all kinds of different mediums.

“I think I’ll be able to survive this one and not just be known as Janet. It’s nice to have a large chunk of the population recognise me as her.

“I don’t think I’ll end up stuck as that one character for the rest of my life.

Meanwhile Mary is taking to the stage in her current role, playing the Wicked Stepmother in the Helix Panto Cinderella.

“It’s going great, it’s great fun,” she admitted. “There’s a brilliant gang, we’re having the craic and getting up very early in the mornings and staying up very late in the evenings.”
