Love/Hate’s John Connors is set to star in a new movie about Dublin’s crime culture called Cardboard Gang.
The Dublin actor is known for his role as Patrick on the dramatic RTE show, and his new role is similar.
“It’s about the crime culture in Dublin. I grew up in Darndale,” he revealed.

The 26-year-old further revealed that he knows what it’s like to be around gang culture, having grown up around it.
“I’ve seen first hand what it’s like at street level,” the actor told the Sunday World.
“How the small-time criminals try to climb the ladder and the more egotistical they become.
“It’s all part of the gangster image when you get a bit of power and control.”

John will play Jay Connolly, a young part-time DJ living on the dole in Darnsdale who ends up turning to drug dealing to earn some extra cash, and of course, things go bad.
The Dublin native admitted that he co-wrote the movie with filmmaker, Mark O’Connor.
“We’ve seen throughout gangland history how even if they’re in their 50s and 60s, how the past can come back to haunt them,” he admitted.
“There’s a karma that comes with it and the film shows that.”
The film is set to premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh, where Jamie Dornan’s new film will also be shown first.
