The Fall actress Valene Kane has landed a huge role in the new Star Wars film.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set some time after the events of Stars Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and shortly before the events of Stars Wars IV: A New Hope.
“I grew up watching Star Wars and I didn’t believe it was happening until I was filming in Iceland,” she said.

The Down native will star as Lyra Esro, the protagonist Jyn Esro’s mother.
“It has a really edgy, independent vibe,” she told Belfast Live about the film.
Valene will be following in the footsteps of Antrim native Liam Neeson who starred as Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set for release in Ireland on the December 16th.
