Assassin Creed creators: ‘We won’t make cash from Michael Fassbender’s movie’

Assassin Creed developers Ubisoft have admitted that they don’t expect the film to bring in much money.

The popular video game is being made into a film and starring Kerry native, Michael Fassbender, in the lead role.

“We are not going to earn a lot of money from it,” Alain Corre, Ubisoft’s European boss, revealed.

Alain isn’t worried about Assassin’s Creed not making a lot of money because the film’s box office success is not the company’s priority.

“Although we will make some money, it is not the purpose of this movie,” he said to MCV.

“The purpose is to bring Assassin’s Creed to more people.”

Alain further admitted that whilst they have their original fans, they are hoping to introduce the game and story to more people.

“We have our core fans, but what we would like is to put this franchise in front of a lot more people, who, maybe, will end up playing the next Assassin’s Creed game,” he revealed.

New photos of the film were released and revealed a lot of how much Michael has worked out for his leading role as he goes shirtless.
