US Congress members call for A$AP Rocky to be released from Swedish prison

US Politicians from the Congressional Black Caucus are calling for the release of rapper A$AP Rocky.

The rapper has been detained in Sweden for the past two weeks, as authorities investigate an alleged altercation.

A$AP missed his slot at Irish festival Longitude due to the incident, as he and a number of his crew members were taken into custody.

It has been widely reported that A$AP is facing extremely difficult conditions during his detainment.

Back in the US, Congressmen are calling for action in the rapper’s case.

In a new video uploaded by TMZ, Representative Hakeem Jeffries of New York offers his support and the support of the Congressional Black Caucus to the star.

“The situation with ASAP Rocky is unfortunate, it’s outrageous, it needs to be addressed,” he said.

“You can expect that members of Congress, particularly those of use who are part of the Congressional Black Caucus, are going to continue to weigh in forcefully until ASAP Rocky is free.”

Over 600,000 people have signed a petition for the rapper’s freedom.
