Timothée Chalamet has admitted he was “embarrassed” over those photos of him kissing Lily-Rose Depp on a yacht.
Last year, the 24-year-old was papped making out with his co-star during a trip to Italy – and the awkward photos quickly went viral on social media.
During a new interview with GQ, the actor said he was left red faced over the images.
He said: “I went to bed that night thinking that was one of the best days of my life. I was on this boat all day with someone I really loved, and closing my eyes, I was like, indisputably, ‘That was great.'”
“And then waking up to all these pictures, and feeling embarrassed, and looking like a real nob? All pale?”
“And then people are like, ‘This is a P.R. stunt.’ A P.R. stunt?! Do you think I’d want to look like that in front of all of you?!”
Timothée dated Lily-Rose, the 21-year-old daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, for almost a year – after they met on the set of Netflix movie The King in June 2018.
But in April 2020, the actor confirmed he was “single” during an interview with British Vogue.
Two months later, Timothée was spotted kissing Mexican actress Eiza González on a trip to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.
In photos obtained by the MailOnline, he was papped packing on the PDA with the 30-year-old actress.
The actor became a Hollywood heartthrob following his leading role in the 2017 movie Call Me By Your Name, which scored him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.
