Meghan Markle returns to Instagram with new business venture

Meghan Markle has returned to Instagram by launching a new business venture.

The Duchess of Sussex has launched a new website and Instagram page titled American Riviera Orchard.

The account has already gained 27.8k followers since its first post 2 hours ago.

The bio of the Instagram reads, “By Meghan Markle, The Duchess of Sussex, Established 2024.”

The significance of the name appears to be a nod to Santa Barbara, the California town where the Duchess currently resides with Prince Harry and their two children.

The first and only Instagram Story plays a video that captures Meghan picking flowers and cooking in a kitchen, alongside the song “I Wish You Love” by singer Nancy Wilson.

The page bio contains a website link which forwards you to a ‘join waitlist’ page.

You are then prompted to click allow to “be the first to know about products, availability, and updates from American Riviera Orchard”.

The fact that Santa Barbara is known for its “Robust food and wine culture” may hint that this will be similar to her previous blog endeavour named ‘The Tig’, in which she shared her favourite food and travel discoveries.

The creation of this account marks the first time Meghan or Harry have been active on social media since they made their last update on @SussexRoyal.

The last update coincided with their decision to step back as senior working members of the Royal family.

Fans raced to social media platform X to express their excitement for the Duchess’s new venture.

One fan wrote, “Mother is about to feed us. I am too excited for whatever this is, Meghan we’re ready baby.”

Another wrote, agreeing with the similarities to the previous ‘Tig’ blog, “Omg my princess is back on Insta ?!? Possibly the little sister of the Tig ?!?”
