Margot Robbie reveals sweet gesture to her mother after finding fame

Margot Robbie has revealed a sweet gesture towards her mother after she found fame.

In 2008, the 33-year-old landed her role as Donna Freedman, a character she played for three years, in Aussie soap Neighbour.

The Queensland native has become of the most famous faces in Hollywood, after making her feature film debut in Richard Curtis’ About Time (2013).

Margot’s breakthrough role was in the 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street, and she has since starred in blockbuster films including I, Tonya, Suicide Squad and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.

The Australian actress’ latest role is as the titular character in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, which she produced.

Speaking on CBS Sunday Morning, Margot revealed she paid off her mother’s mortgage after finding immense fame.

“Everything I owed my mom, I had it written down. She’d take money out of the, like, house mortgage [to] lend me money,” she said.

Margot continued: “So I always knew, I was like, ‘I gotta pay that back.’ And then one day, when I made enough money, I just paid that whole mortgage off completely.”

“I was like, ‘Mom, don’t even worry about that mortgage anymore. It doesn’t even exist anymore.'”

“Honestly, anyone in my position, you’d do that for your mom. Of course you would.”

Margot, who was ranked as one of the world’s highest-paid actresses in 2019, admitted she feels like the “luckiest person” to be in the position she is now.

“I know I’m hardworking and blah, blah, blah, but I’m also the luckiest, luckiest, luckiest person in the world,” the Barbie actress said.

“Every time that I did something I was like, ‘Now it’s the top. It will never get better than this.’ And then somehow it’s just kept getting better and better.”
