Justin Hartley’s ex-wife and daughter defend him following divorce from Chrishell Stause

Justin Hartley’s ex-wife and their daughter have defended the actor, following the play out of his divorce from Chrishell Stause on Selling Sunset.

The 43-year-old has faced backlash over how he allegedly “blindsided” Chrishell by brutally texting her that he had filed for divorce.

Lindsay Korman-Hartley took to social media on Tuesday to stand by her ex-husband, sharing a message of support for her “dear friend”.

“In a day when social media should be used for positivity … an inspiration towards movement in an honest and deserving way, I’d like to join, by highlighting my appreciation for my family,” the actress wrote on Instagram.

“Today, I appreciate my ex-husband Justin for not only being [an] exemplification of a solid man but for being my dear friend and devoted father to our daughter,” she continued.

“Simply put; for being family. We derive our own opinion of people by experiencing life and time together, and we do our best to hold dear the ones that maintain consistent kindness, love and generosity.”

“No matter what conflicts Justin and I had in the past, I appreciate what we have today and I am thankful for the family we have built.”

The former couple’s 16-year-old daughter Isabella also showed her support for her father by resharing the post to her Instagram story.

Justin and Lindsay co-starred on American soap opera Passions together, and were married from 2004 to 2012.

Chrishell and Justin tied the knot in October 2017, before Justin filed for divorce in November last year – with the shock split playing out in front of the cameras of the hit Netflix show.

In one scene, Chrishell confided in her co-star Mary Fitzgerald about the brutal way she found out her marriage was over – “He texted me that we were filed. Forty-five minutes later the world knew.”

Chrishell claimed that she was “blindsided” by her ex-husband, with the drama unfolding on the hit real-estate series.

“I’m just kind of in shock with it all. I’m trying to keep it together, but it’s just a lot all at once ’cause everybody in the whole world knows like at the same time that I knew,” she said in a confessional.

“Have you ever been knocked over by a wave and you don’t know which way to swim to get up?”

“I don’t think anyone ever gets married thinking that they’ll get a divorce. I’m definitely a hopeless romantic, and I feel stupid even saying that out loud.”

“When I think of marriage, I think of: you work on things with people if they’re not perfect — no one is. You work on it. You talk about it.”

“You don’t go out looking for greener grass; sometimes you have to water the grass that you have,” she continued.

“And that’s what marriage is. Sometimes it can be hard. I don’t think it should be more hard than easy, at all, but that’s why I’m so confused, because I didn’t feel like that balance was off. I just feel stupid.”

The news comes after a source told Us Weekly that Justin was “irritated” over Chrishell’s portrayal of their divorce on the hit Netflix show.

“Justin has not watched the episodes but has been alerted to what is said,” the source revealed.

“He’s irritated that she’s airing their private information publicly and knows there is more to the story than is being told,” the insider continued.

“His close friends and family know what really happened, as does Chrishell, so ultimately it’s her choice of what is put out there.”

“The claims made in the show that something changed in Justin after his This is Us fame are completely false.”

“Chrishell knows that’s not what happened, so for her to let people believe that is upsetting to him.”
