Angus Cloud had a connection to Ireland.
Earlier this week, it was announced that the Euphoria star had sadly passed away aged 25.
In a statement shared with TMZ, the actor’s rep said: “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”
“Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss,” Angus’ rep continued. “The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.”
“Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
“We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”
The actor was best known for his role as Fezco in the HBO drama, which premiered back in 2019, alongside the likes of Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and Alexa Demie.
While Angus was born in Oakland, California, the late 25-year-old’s family hail from Ireland, where the majority of them still live, and where he buried his late father earlier this month.
In fact, the actor’s full name is actually Conor Angus Cloud Hickey.
During an interview with WSJ Magazine in 2019, he said he was planning on moving to Ireland before he was cast in Euphoria.
At the time, he said: “I was gonna move to Ireland for a while. All my family lives out there.”
Irish actor Jason O’Mara took to Twitter on Monday night to pay tribute to Angus, after news of his death broke.
Sharing the Euphoria family’s tribute, the Smother actor penned: “Conor Angus Cloud Hickey was an extremely talented actor and a very sweet young man.”
“He told me he had a lot of family in Ireland. Offaly and Balbriggan I believe.”
“He wanted to go back there. I am devastated to hear this news. Sending love to his family and friends.”
