Demi Lovato reportedly called off her engagement to Max Ehrich because she “doesn’t trust him”.
On Thursday night, PEOPLE magazine reported that the couple have parted ways – just two months after Max proposed to Demi.
The couple got engaged in July, four months after they met back in March.
A source has since told E! News that Demi and Max were “arguing a lot” in recent weeks, and the singer soon realised “she didn’t know who Max truly was and didn’t think he had good intentions.”
“There were many red flags she was ignoring and trying to turn a blind eye to.”
A second source said Demi “doesn’t trust him and thinks he’s sketchy”, and she allegedly “feels he proposed to get attention.”
It’s understood Demi’s friends and family, including her mother Diana De La Garza, were “warning” her about Max.
An insider said Demi was urged to end their relationship “sooner than later.”
“Demi is really upset and distraught about it,” the source added.
Demi and Max’s split was confirmed by PEOPLE, after fans noticed that they haven’t been liking each other’s recent Instagram posts.
Demi’s bodyguard and sister also unfollowed Max on the social media platform.
