Cristiano Ronaldo has thanked fans for their messages of support following the tragic loss of his baby son.
The Manchester United star and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez announced the death of their newborn on Monday evening, as well as the birth of his twin sister.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday night, the 37-year-old posted a photo of his family sitting on a couch with their newest member.

The footballer captioned the post: “Home sweet home. Gio and our baby girl are finally together with us.”
“We want to thank everyone for all the kind words and gestures. Your support is very important and we all felt the love and respect that you have for our family.”
“Now it’s time to be grateful for the life that we’ve just welcomed into this world. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻,” he added.
Ronaldo, 37, and Rodríguez, 28, announced the death of their newborn son on Monday night.
In a statement shared on social media, the couple wrote: “It is with our deepest sadness that we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away.”
“It is the greatest pain that any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”
“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.”
“Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you,” they added.

The couple, who have been dating since 2016, are already parents to a 4-year-old daughter named Alana.
The sports star is also father to son Cristiano Jr., 11, and twins Mateo and Eva, 4, who he welcomed via surrogacy.
