There is a hot new hair trend on the scene, and it’s going to do your hair some good.

Mark Fugate, one of Britain’s most popular hair stylists, says we need to start taking better care of our locks and stop microwaving them, but instead bake our hair.

“Microwaving is when you use a tool at too high of a temperature with the wrong product in your hair,” Mark revealed.

“It’s sizzling and being zapped into a shape, which causes a rapid heat up and cool down and doesn’t allow for hair to set in its form,” he continued.

But how do we “bake” our hair?

“Baking is applying a heat protector, using a hot tool at a lower heat, and spending extra time letting a curl heat up around the iron correctly,” the savvy stylist revealed to Marie Claire.

“It establishes even heat distribution.”

The prime heat for a curling hair, according to Mark, is 380 degrees.

When styling the hair, hold the curl in the iron for 30 seconds to a minute, depending on your hair’s length and it’s ability to hold a curl.

Not only is this trick better for your hair, but it will make your curls last far longer than if you were to rush it.
