The ratings war continues: TWICE as many people watched The Late Late Show as The Ray D'Arcy Show

It looks like Ryan Tubridy may be coming out on top of the RTE ratings war as The Late Late Show trounced The Ray D’Arcy Show in the ratings this week.

Ray’s new chat show received less than half the audience of the Late Late, which drew in over 700,000 for it’s country music special last week.

Ratings were also undoubtedly boosted by appearances from Irish actress Saoirse Ronan and Donegal crooner Daniel O’Donnell.

Meanwhile, Ray’s show only received 356,000 viewers on Saturday night and a 29 per cent share of the audience.

The figures are a drop for the chat show host who made his big TV return to an audience of 468,500 viewers with the audience falling to 361,700 for his second show.

Although the former Today FM host’s show has yet to come close to the Late Late in ratings, Ray still has another 28 shows to air to find his feet.

It comes after many viewers slammed Ray’s most recent episode which featured a highly cringe-worthy interview with a Jack Nicholson impersonator.
