She can't let it linger: Dolores O'Riordan to face 'air rage' charges

Former Voice of Ireland coach Dolores O’Riordan is due to appear in court over her alleged ‘air rage’ assault.

It is reported that the Director of Public Prosecutions has recommended that the Zombie singer face prosecution for three separate minor assaults and one summons for resisting arrest from an incident at Shannon airport last November.

The Cranberries star was taken to Shannon Garda Station by gardai after the apparent assault on an Aer Lingus New York to Shannon flight.

A female flight attendant was allegedly assaulted just before Dolores’ Aer Lingus plane landed in Shannon and was hospitalised with a foot injury.

The Limerick native also reportedly head-butted a Garda when the plane landed.

The Sun revealed Gardai had until this week to begin proceedings against the musician and will face a court appearance at Ennis District Court within the next three months.

If found guilty of a Section 2 assault in the district court, the singer could potentially be fined up to €1,850 or sentenced to a maximum of six months in prison.

According to The Sun, the Limerick native has been diagnosed with “bipolar disorder” and her mental health at the time will play an important role in the case.

The 43-year-old opened up about the outburst late last year – admitting she was beginning to try put the incident behind her.

The famous mum had previously revealed her troubles stemmed from her move to New York after splitting from her husband Don in August of last year.

The Sun also revealed, the file was sent to the DPP without the songstress being interviewed in relation to the allegations against her.
