RTE and TV3 fight to sign Hometown for their festive shows

It looks like RTE and TV3 are at war over Louis Walsh’s boyband Hometown.

TV bosses at both stations want the six-piece group to perform on the same night but Louis is only interested in one of them.

TV3 reportedly wanted the boys for their Toy Show airing November 20 but their manager has instead chosen The Late Late Show slot for the same night.

However, it’s not all bad for the powers that be at TV3 as Louis has compromised by reportedly arranging for his other client, Shane Filan to appear on The TV3 Toy Show instead.

“Shane will be singing with a 200-strong choir. It is sure to be a huge hit,” a TV3 insider told The Sunday World.

This year’s toy show will be hosted by Brian Ormond and former Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh with auditions taking place next Friday.

Meanwhile,  The Late Late Toy Show will be broadcast exactly one week later on November 27.
