Nicky Byrne reckons sports star Conor McGregor should be awarded the Freedom of the City.
The Dublin MMA fighter became the world’s undisputed UFC Featherweight Champion over the weekend after making history knocking José Aldo out in 13 seconds of the first round.
Nicky Byrne has had his say on Conor’s big win, and suggested he should be rewarded for his massive achievements.

“I think Conor McGregor should get the freedom of the city, for his achievement in sport. He deserves it,” he said on The Nicky Byrne Show on 2FM.
The Freedom of the City of Dublin is awarded by Dublin City Council after approving a person nominated by the Lord Mayor – an honour only 80 people have received so far.
The former Westlife singer insisted the Crumlin native should be awarded the honour for his contribution to Ireland – revealing he previously got the freedom of Sligo city.
“I managed to get the freedom of the city in Sligo,” he smiled.
