Mrs Brown's Boys… D'Statue! New Dublin statue unveiled of the infamous Agnes Brown

Infamous Irish mammy Agnes Brown has taken over the streets of Dublin today with a new statue.

Brendan O’Carroll’s Mrs Brown has been immortalised in bronze and installed near her Moore Street market stall with a cart that Molly Malone would be proud of.

The statue was unveiled by the Moore Street Market Trader’s Association to mark the launch of Mrs. Brown’s Boys D’Movie DVD, which is out today.

Agnes Brown took her place alongside the likes of Molly Malone, Daniel O’Connell and Charles Parnell for one day only.

The city’s new ‘tart with a cart’, complete with fresh fruit direct from her stall, has been created to celebrate the launch of the movie release.

The statue is 2 metres high and was made in just 10 days by an Irish sculptor.

Unfortunately Brendan himself couldn’t be there this morning, as Goss.ie has revealed he’s busy filming the Christmas special of the popular comedy.
