Brendan O’Carroll has revealed he is hoping to start filming the follow-up to Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie next September.
When released, the film made €26.6 million globally – making it one of the biggest selling Irish films of all time.
“I wanted to do a second movie because I believe we can make a better film than the first one,” he said.

“But it’s a hard act to follow because Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie is the biggest selling Irish film of all time.”
The Dubliner admitted he’s thrilled to Mrs Brown back to the big-screen but kept tight-lipped about the plot.
Meanwhile, the award-winning series returns this year for two Christmas specials, on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

“The Christmas specials are very successful and not having a fourth series makes them even more special,” he told the Sun.
“It’s that Morecambe and Wise thing… ‘Oh, it’s once a year but wow, it’s great to wait for it’.”
