Karen Koster denies she's too old to be hosting Xpose

Karen Koster has shut down critics who think she’s too old to be an Xpose presenter.

The TV3 star has been hosting the entertainment news show since it first hit screens in 2007 and believes that getting older and becoming a mother has helped her connect with the show’s core audience.

“Most of the people tuning into Xposé are mums with kids. I’ve had so many wonderful messages congratulating me on my baby so I know viewers are genuinely interested and will be welcoming me back,” she said.

The Dublin native revealed that when she first started out, she was told that female presenters don’t hit their peak till their thirties which she now understands to be true.

“I remember when I was starting out in TV, I was told women presenters don’t start hitting their peak until they get into their thirties,” she told The Irish Sun.

“I was disappointed, but now I realise how right that person was about it.”

Motherhood: Karen is returning to Xpose part-time to spend more time with her son

The 34-year-old is now returning to Xpose on a part-time basis for a three day working week so she can spend more time with her eight-month-old son Finn.

“I always wanted to go back. Why wouldn’t I? Xposé is the dream job. You go to all the best places and meet the most interesting people.”

“But I’m wondering how big will the pull be, leaving the baby at the creche in the morning,” she revealed.
