FM104 stars Jim Jim Nugent and Mark Noble SUSPENDED after breaking Ed Sheeran news

FM104 presenters Jim Jim Nugent and Mark Noble have been officially suspended – after breaking the Ed Sheeran embargo.

The international singer announced this morning exclusively on 2FM that he will be headlining Croke Park this July.

Ed spoke to Ryan Tubridy at 8.45am this morning  with an official embargo put on the news until then. However Jim Jim and Mark “teased” the news that Ed was being announced.

In an official statement FM104 bosses said Jim Jim and Mark are now suspended until further notice.

“This morning on FM104’s Strawberry Alarm Clock presenters Jim Jim and Nobby broke an embargo concerning the Ed Sheeran concert at Croke Park.

“The embargo was enforced until 8.55am, which the presenters were fully aware of. Due to the edgy nature of the show, Jim Jim and Nobby teased the news prior to the agreed time and left listeners in little doubt as to who was going to be announced.

“Despite getting a phone call from FM104’s CEO Margaret Nelson confirming the embargo last night, the guys didn’t take it seriously enough.

“After a difference of opinion, Programme Director Dave Kelly went into the studio at 9am and told the presenters that due to the seriousness of their actions they would be suspended until further notice.

“The presenters have been asked, however, to facilitate their car giveaway final with Volkswagen Ireland tomorrow morning. Disciplinary action will be taken, but beyond that FM104 cannot confirm details.”
