Brendan O’Connor is currently winning the ratings battle in RTE.
The chat show host is now pulling in more viewers on The Saturday Night Show than Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show, for the first time ever.
Despite getting a complete revamp with a new set and new presenting style, Ryan Tubridy has failed to increase his ratings.
The Late Late Show had an average audience of 499,600 with a 34.21 per cent market share on Friday.
Losing: the Late Late Show has less viewers than the Saturday Night Show
But 501,900 watched thee Saturday Night Show with a  36.76 per cent share.
“It’s a big moment, O’Connor overtaking Ryan Tubridy. And The Late Late Show would have a much bigger budget for guests than the Saturday Night Show,” a source told the Sun.
And the increase in viewers has poured cold water over rumours that Ray D’Arcy is set to replace Brendan.

“There’s a place for Ray D’Arcy on RTE TV but now Brendan and the Saturday Night Show are pulling bigger
number than the Late Late,” the source explained.
“It would be heard to justify taking Brendan off air.”
