Brooklyn wins Outstanding British Film at BAFTAs

Irish film Brooklyn has won the award for Outstanding British Film at the BAFTAs.

Based on the book written by Irish author Colm Tóibín, the co-produced British movie has gained acclaim worldwide, with Saoirse landing nominations at the Golden Globes, SAGAs and Oscars for Best Actress.

Saoirse joined her fellow cast and crew on stage in London, including Domhnall Gleeson, as the movie scooped the award.

Brooklyn is also up for Best Motion Picture at the Oscars, going up against Room, which was directed by Lenny Abrahamson.
