Republic of Telly star Joanne McNally has admitted although she reconnected with her biological father, she has no plans to meet him.

The comedienne, who has been open about her search for her birth parents, admitted communication with her biological father suffered crossed wires after she thought he was purposely not responding to her emails.

“My biological father got in touch because I contacted him a year ago but he never wrote back,” she told the Herald.

Meet-up: RTE star Joanne McNally admitted she has no plans to meet her biological father

“It turns out my emails had just gone into the wrong inbox. I wrote a show saying he was a w***ker, so I felt bad about it then.”

The 32-year-old, who co-wrote the comedy show Separated at Birth with comedian PJ Gallagher, found her birth mother over a year ago but is yet to meet her biological father.

Opening up about her birth parents, the frank Dubliner confessed finding out their identities wasn’t the “big reveal” she thought it was going to be.

“When I was growing up I thought it was the biggest thing ever. I thought that when I found them it would just be my head on different bodies,” she divulged.

“But they’re nothing like me, so it wasn’t the big reveal that I thought it was going to be.”

Although their were suggestions the RTE star would film a documentary about meeting her biological father, who lives in Melbourne, Australia, she admitted she doesn’t feel the same “urgency” to know them as she once did.

“I have kind of lost the urgency about it now. They are just normal people. They are not going to be able to tell me what to do with my career,” she laughed.
