Liam Payne is said to have had a backstage meltdown after being unable to cope with the pressures of fame which caused the group to cancel their Belfast gig.
Thousands of fans were left outraged after the boyband cancelled their show in the city’s SSE Arena on Tuesday night with a statement confirming that Liam was ill.
“The pressures of fame and being on the road for two years have made Liam ill,” an insider revealed.

“He was devastated about letting everyone down, especially the fans, but he wasn’t physically able to get on stage. He had a complete meltdown,” they told The Sun.
Liam agreed to go on stage last night with Tuesday gig’s being postponed to Friday.
The 1D star took to Twitter to apologize to fans for the incident.

“I’m so sorry to everybody I disappointed,” he wrote.
It comes after the band’s new music video for Perfect was released just hours after their gig was cancelled.
