Family-friendly things to do for some Easter fun this weekend

With Easter coming this weekend, it’s the perfect chance to spend some quality time with your family.

Easter Sunday takes place on March 31st this year, and there’s plenty of fun activities taking place around the national holiday.

If you’re looking to entertain the kids while they’re off school, we’ve listed four family-friendly activities taking place in Dublin this week:

Easter at Luggwoods

The Easter “Eggstravaganza” at Luggwoods runs from now until Monday, April 1st.

The Magical Easter Spring Trail is decorated with lots of Colour & Easter sensations, so you can let your imaginations go wild at this special time of year.

Meet the Luggwoods Fairy Tales characters who are on hand to help guide you to find the clues that crack the code on the Easter puzzle.

There will be a chance to meet the Easter Bunny, and all children in attendance will get a chocolate Easter Egg.

Tickets are €19.50 for children, and €14.50 for adults.

Easter Egg-stravaganza at Dublin Zoo

Dublin Zoo is holding its Easter celebration on Saturday 30th, and Sunday the 31st of March.

Hop along to Dublin Zoo for an unforgettable Easter family fun weekend, with special appearances from the Easter bunny, a DJ on the Great Lawn, face painting, arts & crafts and more.

Special keeper talks themed around the zoo’s resident bunnies will take place at the Family Farm, and visitors will have the chance to meet the Easter Bunny.

The celebration will take place from 11 am to 4 pm.

Easter at Farmleigh

Farmleigh House and Estate will celebrate Easter on Sunday, March 31st, and Monday, April 1st.

Highlights will include puppet shows, storytelling, falconry and pop-up children’s comedy.

The Farmers Markets will include a Food and Crafts Market, 10 am to 5 pm, with Music in the Markets from 12 noon to 2 pm. Music in the Bandstand will also take place from 2pm to 4pm.

This event is free entry, so drop by for some family-friendly Easter fun at no cost!

Big Barracks Egg Hunt @ Collins Barracks

The Big Barracks Egg Hunt will take place on Easter Sunday at Collins Barracks.

In this drop-in activity for families, follow the object trail around the Museum to solve the riddles, hunt out the artefacts, then come back to Reception for an eggs-cellent surprise.

The Big Barracks Egg Hunt will begin in reception at Collins Barracks, and booking is not required.

This is also a free event for kids to take part in.
