Rebel Wilson reveals if she’s spoken to former pal Isla Fisher since making claims about her husband Sacha Baron Cohen

Rebel Wilson has revealed if she’s spoken to her former pal Isla Fisher since making claims about her husband Sacha Baron Cohen.

The Pitch Perfect star has made a series of shocking claims about working with the British actor in her memoir Rebel Rising, which he has firmly denied.

A week after the claims were made public, Isla announced her split from Sacha, after 13 years of marriage.

Rebel confessed on the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Wednesday morning: “I haven’t spoken to her.”

“Obviously, I used to be friends with her before all this happened. We did a movie together called Bachelorette.”

“I don’t feel like I’m the reason [for their break up]. But it might have just been his general treatment to women,” she added when asked if she believed her claims were the reason for the couple’s split.

In March, Rebel publicly named Sacha Baron Cohen as the celebrity she branded an “a**hole” in her memoir, and said working with him was the “worst experience of her career.”

The pair worked together on the 2016 comedy Grimsby, in which she played the role of Dawn – who was his character Nobby’s wife.

Last month, Sacha broke his silence after the actress’ memoir was redacted in the UK.

The copies in the UK have blacked out certain parts of her chapter about Sacha, due to what the Austrailian branded “peculiarities” of English law.

Sacha’s legal team have made a statement calling this decision a win for the actor, after he repeatedly said the claims were false.

Amidst these claims, the actor and his wife shared the news of their separation, after 13 years of marriage.

While the actor has strenuously denied Rebel’s claims against him, the timing of their split announcement has reportedly raised eyebrows.

One insider told The Sun: “You do have to wonder whether Wilson’s memoir and the timing of the couple’s split announcement are more than a coincidence.”

“Despite being determined to keep their break-up secret for months, suddenly Sacha’s reputation is being questioned and Isla is well known as a strong supporter of women’s rights. So you do have to wonder.”

They continued: “Sacha and Isla have always presented themselves as a kooky kind of brand. Indeed, few people originally expected them to get together, or stay together.”

“Isla is just lovely. She has a reputation as a lovely, fun-loving woman. For Sacha, she’s been the perfect antidote to his reputation of a sometimes acid-tongued comedian.”

“It’s fair to say that he needed her for his career more than she needed him.”

According to another report, Isla and Sacha also disagreed over their living arrangements – as Sacha was keen to relocate to his native UK, while Isla wanted to remain in Perth or Los Angeles.
